VRSF BMW N55 EWG High-Flow Catted Downpipe

This downpipe is the best bang-for-buck modification available for the N55. Backpressure is significantly reduced by eliminating the restrictive catalytic converter in the factory downpipe with a high-flow 200-cell race cat, resulting in faster turbo spool, a genuine increase in power (20-25hp with a tune), and a more aggressive exhaust note.

Hand-crafted from mandrel-bent SS304-grade stainless steel with smooth radius bends to decrease turbulence, CNC-precision-machined flanges are also constructed from billet 304-grade stainless steel. This downpipe is a direct bolt-on application with no cutting necessary, and fits the stock catback as well as all aftermarket catbacks. Optional ceramic coating is available using Cerakote's high-temperature coating, rated to withstand temperatures up to 1800°F, using their best thermal barrier coating to keep hot exhaust gases contained rather than radiating into the engine bay, genuinely helping reduce intake air, engine, and transmission oil temps.

Important: this 4in downpipe is specific to EWG (electronic wastegate) N55 vehicles, generally production after 07/13. PWG (pneumatic wastegate, up to 07/13) vehicles require VRSF's separate 3.5in downpipe version. M235i and 435i models were only ever produced with EWG, so both require this 4in version exclusively.
