During hot summer days, at repeated pulls, inspired driving, or even ordinary driving in a hotter climate, it doesn't take much effort from the engine to generate dangerously high inlet temperatures, even on a standard, non-tuned car. The cooling capacity of an OEM intercooler is in many cases inferior, which affects the usable power you can actually access, the heat has to be eliminated, or the promised output decreases the moment you give it gas. This self-designed do88 intercooler was developed specifically for an easy drop-in fitment into the VAG 1.8/2.0 TSI MQB platform, ensuring the power is there when you need it, at all times.

Constructed to deliver the best cooling efficiency during tough conditions, this intercooler is exclusively manufactured in aluminium with continuous welds, guaranteeing genuine reliability and endurance. The numbers: a 99% larger core volume than the OEM unit (15,347cm³ versus 7,719cm³), a 5% larger active cooling area (2,692cm² versus 2,573cm²), and 47% higher airflow at 0.15 bar/2.18psi pressure drop (455 CFM versus 310 CFM). Under identical conditions, this translated to a documented 12°C lower post-intercooler air temperature (24°C versus 36°C stock). The perception that an intercooler is only worth upgrading after a major engine tune is genuinely false, though widely believed among car people, the engine pulls better across the entire rev range and withstands repeated full-throttle runs without building excess heat, even completely stock.

Please note: some installs may require minor trimming of the plastic radiator/intercooler support frame for proper fitment.
