do88 Porsche 911 Turbo / Turbo S (991) Intercooler Kit MERA

MERA, as in "more," means more cooling, better airflow, more performance. Simply, MERA. During early market research for this platform, do88 found that most upgrade intercoolers weren't genuine upgrades at all, many performed at the same level as the factory 991 units, or in some cases even worse. do88 decided from the outset not to cut corners to keep costs down, instead creating the best possible solution for the available space in the car.

The intercoolers feature 3D freeform-designed cast end tanks that distribute airflow across the full core with genuine precision, a real factor in both pressure drop and cooling efficiency. To fit an appropriately thick core, do88 also designed a new upper ambient air guide, developed in a 3D-scanned environment for a perfect fit to both the vehicle-integrated air guides and the intercooler itself. Connections are enlarged to 70mm (2¾in) to remove bottlenecks and let air pass with minimal restriction, with new 3D-designed, CFD-tested hoses at every position, and the turbo outlet hoses specifically rated to 240°C (464°F) continuous temperature.

The numbers: 726 CFM versus 607 CFM stock at 0.175 bar/2.54psi pressure drop, a genuine 19% higher airflow (do88 intercoolers plus OE y-pipe versus OE intercooler plus OE y-pipe), and a 17°C lower inlet air temperature under identical conditions (40°C versus 57°C stock). Real-world testing used an AIM race logger across five consecutive full-throttle runs (50-250km/h) on a Stage 1-tuned 991 in Sport Plus with AC off, no cooldown between pulls, first with OE parts, then a fast swap to do88's intercoolers for five identical runs. Worth noting honestly: this intercooler weighs 8.5kg (18.74lb) per piece versus the OEM's 3.1kg (6.83lb), a real increase, but one do88 considers well compensated for by the performance gain delivered.
