Upon launching the 992 generation, Porsche abandoned the intercooler and air filter layout used in the previous 996, 997, and 991 generations entirely. Contrary to earlier versions, the 992 no longer has a common, united air filter for both turbochargers, instead, the air filters and their housings are located inside each rear fender, with intake air feeds in the decklid shared with the intercooler ambient duct and rear fender scoops. It's a more thoughtful factory solution than before, but there's absolutely room for improvement, hence do88's intake kit, the world's first model-adapted air filter kit for the Porsche 992 Turbo and Turbo S.
The kit is made from vacuum-infused, prepreg carbon fibre of the finest quality, replacing the entire OE air filter box. The carbon housings accommodate a big cone filter from renowned BMC, using their finest filter media, washable and recommended for regeneration every 20,000-25,000km. Independent testing confirmed 10-33% higher airflow than OE (1356-1632 CFM versus 1228 CFM, depending on version chosen). do88 is genuinely proud of the performance upgrade this brings, especially for tuned cars demanding more oxygen, but an otherwise strictly unmodified car will also see improvements from the better airflow.
