The S55 twin-turbo engine powering the M2 Competition, M3, and M4 F8X uses plastic intercooler pipes on both the hot and cold side, and these are a genuine weak link on any tuned car, and in some cases even on a completely stock tune. The OE plastic pipes often crack or split, leaving you with a boost leak at exactly the wrong moment.

do88 solved this properly rather than guessing at a fit: a detailed 3D-scan of an actual M3 Competition engine bay informed the design of this J-pipe, a genuine 3.5in (89mm) casting rather than the mandrel-bent, cut-and-welded pipe sections most aftermarket alternatives use. Because it's cast rather than bent, do88 achieved a free-form shape with the same diameter all the way to the throttle body, something a mandrel-bent pipe simply can't replicate. Constructed from 6061 aluminium instead of plastic, it includes a stainless steel throttle body C-clip, replacing the OE's flimsy plastic retaining clip, along with a matt black silicone hose coupler for a clean, stealthy look. Two 1/8-27 NPT connections are included for methanol or nitrous injection, or as a vacuum port for a pressure gauge, with blanking plugs supplied if not in use.
