This is do88's premium charge cooler manifold range, built around a high-performance, motorsport-grade Bar & Plate air-to-water intercooler core from Garrett Motorsport, setting the industry standard for quality and performance in this space. The core is precisely 102mm (4") thick, with thin, densely stacked cooling fins offering exceptionally efficient heat transfer, both the air and water fin characteristics have been meticulously evaluated to strike the ideal balance between optimal cooling and airflow.
The B58's factory intake manifold has the charge air cooler integrated directly into it, an intricate, dense construction, and the OE plastic version not only restricts airflow but poses a genuine risk of cracking under high boost. do88's MERA manifold replaces it with aluminium construction capable of withstanding higher boost pressures, paired with cast end tanks (rather than CNC-machined) that distribute charge air and cooling water evenly across the core, developed through 3D-scanning, CFD analysis, and 3D-printing iterations. A thermal barrier spacer insulates the aluminium manifold from conductive heat transfer out of the cylinder head, lowering IATs and helping minimise heat soak. The result: 11 water cooling rows versus the OE's 6, a 23°C lower inlet air temperature under identical conditions (versus OEM's 40-41°C), 874 CFM airflow at 0.1 bar/1.45psi pressure drop, a 47% improvement over the OEM's 595 CFM, and a documented 5hp peak power gain.
Works with: OEM mounting points. A 3-port pad is integrated into the manifold inlet tank casting for additional parameter measurement or as an extra vacuum source, sealing plugs provided if not in use. Designed to remain compatible with the standard engine cover, including clearance for do88's own auxiliary fuel rail.
