The B58's factory intake manifold has the charge air cooler integrated directly into it, an intricate, dense construction that demands real precision from any aftermarket producer attempting to replicate or improve on it. The OE plastic manifold isn't just a genuine restriction to airflow, it also poses a real risk of cracking under high boost levels due to its plastic construction, a genuine reliability concern once you start tuning.

do88's replacement uses aluminium construction instead, capable of withstanding significantly higher boost pressures than the factory plastic part. Rather than CNC-machining, do88 opted for cast end tanks, since casting allows for the complex shapes needed to evenly distribute charge air and cooling water across the core, developed through a comprehensive process of 3D-scanning, multiple design iterations, CFD analysis, and 3D-printing before arriving at the final design. As do88 puts it, maximum performance supersedes the bling factor. A thermal barrier spacer is included, engineered to insulate the aluminium manifold from conductive heat transfer out of the cylinder head, lowering intake air temperatures, improving charge air cooler efficiency, and helping minimise heat soak.

Works with: OEM mounting points. A 3-port pad is integrated into the manifold inlet tank casting for additional parameter measurement or as an extra vacuum source, sealing plugs provided if not in use. Designed to remain compatible with the standard engine cover.
