do88 BMW B58 Gen 1 (M140I/M240I/340I/440I/540I/X3/X4) Charge Cooler Manifold

The B58 Gen 1, introduced with the F-Series, has proven to be a real gem of an engine, capable of high outputs, but the factory plastic intake manifold, with its integrated charge air cooler, becomes a genuine limiting factor once you push beyond stock power. It restricts airflow and poses a real risk of cracking under high boost pressures, a genuine reliability concern once you start tuning.

do88's replacement uses aluminium construction instead, capable of withstanding significantly higher boost pressures than the factory plastic part. Rather than CNC-machining, do88 opted for cast end tanks, since casting allows for the complex shapes needed to evenly distribute charge air and cooling water across the core, developed through a comprehensive process of 3D-scanning, multiple design iterations, CFD analysis, and 3D-printing before arriving at the final design. A thermal barrier spacer is included, engineered to insulate the aluminium manifold from conductive heat transfer out of the cylinder head, lowering intake air temperatures and helping minimise heat soak. The outlet tank is pre-configured for auxiliary port fuel injection, compatible with Injector Dynamics ID1050x-34-14 or Bosch EV14 Compact (K) injectors, with a matching custom fuel rail available separately, injector blanking plugs included if not in use. Each cylinder runner also carries a 1/8 NPT port for nitrous or methanol injection, with sealing plugs included.
