do88 Audi RS3 (8V/8Y) Performance Intercooler

The biggest obstacle when designing a performance intercooler for the RS3 is the OEM crash bar, which often limits both the physical size of the core and blocks ambient airflow to the intercooler entirely. To avoid this compromise, do88 developed a new chromoly steel crash bar with 40mm (1 5/8in) tubing, included as part of this kit. It installs just like the OEM unit, but allows unrestricted ambient airflow and provides genuinely better space for a larger core, while retaining the original mounting points for your ACC radar sensor and ambient temperature sensor.

Engineered as a direct OEM replacement, this kit features a sizeable 97mm core from Garrett Motorsport, rated to 1000hp under all conditions. The core uses advanced aerospace technology, densely packed with thin cooling fins for genuinely efficient heat transfer, with airflow distributed evenly via do88's uniquely designed, freeform cast end tanks. After many iterations of CFD analysis, 3D printing, and flow bench testing, the result speaks for itself: a 118% larger core volume than OEM (18,102cm³ versus 8,307cm³), an 80% larger active cooling area (1,866cm² versus 1,038cm²), a 32°C lower inlet air temperature under identical conditions (23°C versus 55°C OEM), and 22% higher airflow at 0.125 bar/1.81psi pressure drop (526 CFM versus 432 CFM). do88's 80mm machined connections, which they believe to be the only brand offering enlarged hose connections on this platform, eliminate bottlenecks that would otherwise cap high power outputs.

Please note: do88 has not conducted a formal crash test on the replacement crash bar, and it may not meet road-legality standards in every country. Its rigidity makes it genuinely well suited to high-performance track cars, but confirm local requirements before fitting to a road car.
