On MQB platform vehicles, the front cooling pack actually consists of three radiators working together: a center main radiator, a left-side DSG transmission heat exchanger, and a right-side auxiliary water radiator. Coolant flows from the engine into the main radiator, then splits through a Y-piece into both smaller side units, the left cooling the DSG transmission fluid through an oil-to-water cooler, and the right serving as a secondary means of lowering engine coolant temperature. Combined with the demands of harsh or track driving, all three of these factory units can become a genuine limiting factor.

CSF's Quadruple-Pass DSG High-Performance Auxiliary Radiator is a genuinely multi-fit component: it can be installed as the left-side DSG transmission heat exchanger, or, with no modifications, as the right-side auxiliary engine water radiator, giving you flexibility depending on which side of your cooling system needs attention. The 2-row, 42mm core uses CSF's exclusive B-Tube technology, increasing tube efficiency by approximately 15% over regular oval tubes for lighter, more efficient heat transfer. A genuine quadruple-pass flow structure routes coolant across the core four times before it exits, rather than just once, maximising contact time for the coolest possible outlet temperature. Full 100% all-aluminium construction, finished in black, replaces the factory's more failure-prone materials. In real-world track testing on a Golf R fitted with the full CSF MQB cooling package, adding this unit to the right side kept coolant temperatures in an optimal range with a peak of just 212°F throughout an entire demanding track day, regardless of ambient conditions.
