CSF Porsche 964 / 993 High-Performance Engine Oil Cooler

Few generations stir as much passion, and controversy, as the 964 and 993. These represent the final chapters of the air-cooled era, and Porsche worked hard to bridge classic design with modern performance. But both platforms ran hotter than earlier air-cooled 911s, driven by increased performance output, stricter emissions regulations, and limited engine bay space. Porsche was genuinely pushing the limits of air/oil cooling technology available at the time.

Following the strong response to CSF's 911/930 Turbo Fender Oil Cooler, CSF partnered again with Porsche engine building and restoration specialists to develop a modern OEM+ upgrade for the last of the air-cooled 911s. The original Längerer & Reich oil cooler dates back to the 1980s, and even current OEM replacements through the Porsche Classic program still use that same outdated design and materials. This new cooler brings genuinely modern engineering: a dual-pass 50mm high-performance tube and fin core with innovative rolled fin geometry, delivering a 16% larger core volume, 6% increase in heat dissipation, and 10% improvement in airflow over OEM specification, thanks to wider air passages and a multi-louvered fin design.

Stainless steel "widemouth" M30 x 1.5 fittings, precision machined in-house with an optimised inner diameter, deliver up to 50% greater flow capacity than the OEM connections, pre-installed with high-quality copper crush washers for a leak-free seal. It's engineered to fit seamlessly into concours-winning restorations, retaining a factory-style look while delivering genuinely cutting-edge cooling technology underneath.
