Originally debuted at the SEMA show and deliberately withheld from general release for a year while being race-tested and validated exclusively by some of the world's most highly regarded Porsche tuners, CSF's Twin Intercooler Set for the 991 Turbo/Turbo S has since become the go-to option for genuine performance and value in the aftermarket. The most immediately obvious difference is core width - a substantial jump from the OEM's 80mm to CSF's 115mm, critical for anyone running performance tunes, bolt-on modifications, or upgraded turbo systems.
The high-efficiency bar/plate core is paired with 100% TIG-welded cast end tanks, addressing a well-documented OEM weakness: the factory tube/fin core is simply crimped onto plastic end tanks, which can crack under high boost or the vibration typical of race conditions. CSF's deeper end tank design also allows airflow to distribute evenly throughout the entire core, unlike the OEM's shallower design where airflow struggles to reach the top/bottom tube sections. A distinctive aerospace-grade, nano-particle heat dispersion coating - applied by the same California-based specialist that coats components for Boeing - dissipates heat approximately 35% better than uncoated raw aluminium. Data logging shows the CSF intercoolers hold IATs 25-40°F below OEM levels, starting around 98°F and settling to a steady 103°F, while the factory intercooler climbs rapidly and can require aborting a test at just 75 seconds due to excessive heat. Independent rolling road testing on a Stage 1-tuned, supported build recorded peak gains of 41whp.
Works with: OEM mounting points and quick-connect fittings - fits both 991.1 and 991.2 Turbo/Turbo S.
Why Choose These Intercoolers
- 115mm core width - a substantial increase over the OEM's 80mm, critical for tuned or upgraded-turbo cars
- 100% TIG-welded cast end tanks - addresses the OEM's crack-prone crimped plastic tank design
- Even airflow distribution throughout the core - unlike the OEM's shallower, uneven design
- Aerospace-grade nano-particle heat dispersion coating - ~35% better heat dissipation than uncoated aluminium
- 25-40°F lower intake air temperatures - independently data-logged against OEM
- OEM-style quick-connect machined fittings - precise fitment, lock, and seal
