Prior to the 991.2 generation, non-Turbo 911 owners had very few options for genuine performance gains. The 992's 3.0L twin-turbo engine - now used across every trim outside the Turbo, GT2, and GT3 - opened up a whole new performance market, but like most turbocharged engines it experiences significant heat soak and progressively rising intake air temperatures even during moderately spirited driving, causing the ECU to pull timing and cut power. The OEM intercooler's position right above the engine, absorbing radiant heat from below, only makes the problem worse.
CSF's Intercooler System, developed through their partnership with a Formula 1 cooling systems manufacturer, brings the same proven core technology used on their 992 Turbo/Turbo S and 991 GT2 RS systems to the Carrera range for the first time. The Formula-1 performance-grade 2-row core features rolled tubes with inner fins, engineered to achieve greater cooling performance in a smaller package than the OEM design - letting the system fit in the stock location using all OEM hardware, ducts, and shrouds for a genuine drop-in installation. CNC-machined billet end tanks, 100% TIG-welded, replace the OEM's crimped plastic composite tanks - a well-documented weak point known to crack under heavy boost. Independent dyno testing (84°F/29°C ambient) recorded peak power increasing to 560whp/741Nm on a modified car, with an average gain of 26.7whp/44.5Nm in the 3500-4000rpm mid-range and a peak gain of 32whp/55Nm - though CSF notes the bigger win is consistency: maintaining power and temperature run after run matters more in any motorsport setting than a single peak number.
Works with: Stock ECU or performance tunes - compatible with methanol injection kits for those planning further upgrades.
Why Choose This Intercooler System
- Formula-1 performance-grade PWR core - genuinely different technology from a standard bar & plate design
- CNC-machined billet end tanks, 100% TIG-welded - replaces the OEM's crack-prone crimped plastic construction
- True drop-in fit - uses all factory mounting points, ducts, and shrouds, no modification required
- Dyno-proven gains - up to 32whp/55Nm peak, with strong mid-range improvement from 3500-4000rpm
- Genuinely fights heat soak - maintains consistent power run after run, not just a one-time peak number
- Compatible with methanol injection kits - genuine headroom for further tuning
Compatibility
- Porsche 911 Carrera / Carrera T (992.1, 2019-2024, 3.0L Turbo H6)
- Porsche 911 Carrera S (992.1, 2019-2024)
- Porsche 911 Carrera 4 / Carrera 4S (992.1, 2019-2024)
- Porsche 911 Carrera GTS (992.1, 2019-2024, Coupe/Cabriolet/Targa)
Not compatible with: Turbo, or GT3 variants - these use a separate CSF intercooler system
