CSF's original Charge-Air-Coolers for the McLaren 720S made real waves when first released, delivering an astonishing 99% thermal efficiency and finding their way into some of the fastest, most powerful McLarens in the world. The OEM units are already very well engineered, offering up to 94% thermal efficiency and handling modest boost increases quite well, which made developing a genuine upgrade a real engineering challenge. CSF's original design achieved 99% efficiency, but the larger cores caused fitment issues on Spider models, so in 2024 CSF went back to the drawing board with strategic partner PWR to solve this properly.

The result is an all-new, reengineered system that's more compact, more efficient, and now compatible with Spider variants across the board, a genuine next-generation benchmark for this platform. Hand-built bar/plate cores are manufactured at PWR's Tier-1 OEM facility in Indianapolis, produced to aerospace-level tolerances using extremely lightweight, thin materials that allow for a much higher concentration of internal fins. The bar/plate core uses three times as many fin rows compared to the factory tube & fin core, and also carries a much higher burst pressure rating, handling boost spikes far better than a tube/fin design. A single-core, dual-pass design replaces the inefficient multiple-core layout found in lower-quality competitor offerings, with a 68% increase in core volume over OEM, independently efficiency-tested at 99% versus the OEM's 94%. Every unit is handcrafted and professionally TIG-welded in the USA, finished in CSF's aerospace-grade Thermal Dispersion Space Grey coating for both maximum heat transfer efficiency and an OEM+ aesthetic.
