Active Autowerke BMW M3/M4 (F80/F82/F83) Maad Maax Rear Exhaust Section

The factory F8X exhaust uses a middle and rear silencer alongside a pair of exhaust valves, designed to be free-flowing while still meeting drive-by noise regulations. The rear silencer uses a reflection chamber on each side that redirects exhaust gases to the opposite side from where they entered (the driver's side exhaust exits on the passenger side), and when the valves are closed, this design helps manage backpressure buildup from noise dampening. The result, in practice, is a flat, buzzy tone that many owners describe as more "weed eater" than proper M car.

After analysing the factory system, Active Autowerke concluded that less would be more, and built the Maad Maxx rear section around a complete redesign of that philosophy. The triple-canister muffler design delivers superior resonance control and reduced drone compared to the factory back box, while an optimised-flow axle-back layout complements the F8X platform's natural characteristics. Flex joints reduce vibration transfer, and the valved design gives you volume control exactly when you want it, aggressive and deep with the valves open, civil and refined when you need it. Every unit is test-fit on a dedicated F8X exhaust fixture, guaranteed to fit all F80 M3 and F82/F83 M4 models, and comes with all necessary installation hardware.
