Active Autowerke BMW M2 G87 Single Midpipe

BMW fits two silencers in the middle and rear of the factory F8X/G87 exhaust system to assist with noise dampening. The middle silencer includes a small internal crossover that helps reduce drone, but it's also highly restrictive, and amplifies the uneven, out-of-sync turbocharger sound many owners describe as "dueling 3-cylinders" rather than a proper inline-6 note. Active Autowerke's Signature Single Midpipe was released for the G87 M2 at the strong request of customers, bringing the same expertise developed for the F8X M cars and G80 M3/G82 M4 to this platform.

By starting with the highly restrictive factory midpipe and applying proprietary design work, Active Autowerke dramatically increases exhaust flow while virtually eliminating that "dueling 3-cylinder" character, replacing it with a deeper, more unified tone from the stock midpipe location. It's part of a complete exhaust system for the G87, offered as one of two midpipe choices alongside an Equal Length version, together with a rear axle-back valved exhaust and a set of GESI catted downpipes. This remake of the stock exhaust gives the G87 the sound it should genuinely have had from the factory. Installation requires only two cuts in the stock midpipe, one on each side, and remains a bolt-on most can perform, with the stock section reinstallable if needed.
